Scams targeting ASIC customers

Attached is an email for a business name renewal recently received into our office.
The email does look very much like a legitimate ASIC email, but there were a few giveaways that it was spam:
1. A legitimate ASIC email will be from an email address that ends in asic.gov.au
2. An ASIC email will refer to your business or company name specifically in the body of the email
3. An ASIC email will be signed off by Rosanne Bell - Senior Executive Leader - Register

If you receive one of these business name renewals emails and want to ensure its authenticity, please compare the email to the one we have attached here. Please also check your registration date on the following ASIC website:
You can search for your business name here
ASIC will only issue a renewal notice 30 days before your renewal date - if it falls outside this timeframe it is likely to be a scam. If you are still not sure contact ASIC directly on 1300 300 630.

Do not click on any links in suspicious emails as it can infect your computer/device with malware.

If you would like to notify ASIC of a potential scam email, you can forward the entire email to ReportASICEmailFraud@asic.gov.au.
